TimberTech Terrain Collection Sandy Birch decking boards bring a natural, summery aesthetic to any home’s exterior. These boards have a soft beige and brown color, but they’re tough enough for everything Ontario can throw at them. Manufactured from high-grade composite, Sandy Birch looks and feels exactly like real wood, but lasts a lot longer.
TimberTech Terrain Collection Sandy Birch boards are capped on all four sides by a polymer shell. The shell is texturized to mimic an authentic wood grain while protecting against staining, scratching, and fading. Mold, mildew, and moisture? No problem.
TimberTech decking products also come with a 25-year scratch and stain warranty. Customers in Ontario can rest easy: this deck lasts for decades. Regular re-staining and sealing is not required.
Actual Dimensions – 0.94″ x 5.36″ (23.88 mm x 136.14 mm)
Length – 12′, 16′, and 20′ (366 sm, 488 sm, and 610 sm)
Shape of boards – available in both grooved and square-edged varieties (16′ and 20′ only)
TimberTech products are famed for their appearance and durability, but they’re also easy to install. Most decking contractors in Ontario prefer to use CONCEALoc® hidden fasteners when working with TimberTech Terrain Collection Sandy Birch. These fasteners ensure the deck’s surface is sheer and fastener-free. FUSIONLoc® hidden fastener systems are another easy-to-install option.
However, some contractors prefer square-edged boards for the main deck. Plus, exposed fasteners are required for picture framing, stairs, and skirting. For square-edged boards, the TOPLoc™ and Cap-Tor Face Fastening System are the best options.
Cortex and Pro Plug systems are not options for TimberTech Terrain Collection because of groove channels underneath of decking boards.
Remember: The deck’s underneath joist must be 16” on-center. When installing the decking boards on a diagonal basis, the underneath joists’ structure must be 12” on-center. In that case, the customer will end up spending around 35 percent more on fasteners than they would with joists 16” on-center.
TimberTech Terrain Collection Sandy Birch complements the existing beauty of any home. It’s great for building a main deck without picture framing. However, for customers who prefer a picture frame, darker boards are the best option. Go with TimberTech Terrain Collection Rustic Elm—the bold brown color creates an eye-catching contrast with the softer Sandy Birch.
All TimberTech Terrain Collection boards come with included raisers and fascia boards (0.56” x 7¼” x 12’ & 0.56” x 11.75” x 12’, respectively). The raisers and fascia boards are available in TimberTech Terrain Collection Sandy Birch.
